My mind is definitely on the impending Marathon these days. I’m finding it hard to focus on my projects to get anything meaningful done. I’m also pushing up against my 1 year time limit on a couple of web courses so I’m trying to plow through those final assignments in the next week. Being sick last week didn’t help matters either. So all in all – yeah, I’ve been distracted.
In terms of project goals for the short term here’s what I want to do.
- Finalize the pre-production documentation for Unnamed RPG
- Finalize the core technology for Unnamed RPG
- Package up my Tile Engine so others can use/benefit from it (watch this space!)
WoW:
I’ve quit WoW for the fourth time. This was definitely my most successful run. I rejoined back in November when WOTLK dropped. I rolled a DK, joined a guild, leveled to 80, completed most of Northrend, and raided a decent amount of Naxx10. It was a blast and I met some awesome people that I plan to stay friends with. My account officially went dark on April 17th. I may consider rejoining in the Fall. But until then I got some work ahead of me!!
Running Running Running…
I always get more obsessive over running the closer I get to a race. I’m hoping I’m successful on May 3rd as I’d like to plan on future marathons. Victoria in October seems like about the right time frame for a second marathon. I really enjoyed their half-route last year and wouldn’t mind being part of their 30th anniversary run this Fall. Realistically I can only do a couple of marathons a year (Spring & Fall) so I need to pick wisely! But look at me getting ahead of myself. Let’s focus on finishing my first one shall we?
Regardless of if I choose to run more marathons, or stick to the half-marathon distance, I’ll likely need to start investigating running groups. Solo-training has been great so far, but I’m going to need a firmer boot to my ass if I’m ever going to push myself to improve.
Taper taper taper… Holding back on my runs wont be easy this week with the amazing weather out there. Let’s hope there’s sunshine (but mild weather) on May 3rd.
