Will the real kaylasara please stand up?
It all started almost a year ago with this tweet of mine.
It’s interesting typing “kaylasara” into Google and seeing all my Doppelgangers. Who knew my alter-ego was such a good Rock Band player.
Normal Googlegangers are people that are quite different than yourself. They are from far away lands and probably a porn star. So imagine my surprise when I saw a Googleganger that had similar interests to me. I realized at this point that it was a good possibility that people may get me and this other “kaylasara” mixed up.
Less than a month later – I get this tweet…
@kaylasara HI Kaylasara – it’s Kaylasara! I saw your tweet and thought I’d pop by to introduce myself- Silly me- I did a google search too!
Hilarious. She went and Googled herself and found my tweet. We added each other on MSN, Twitter, Facebook, Xbox Live, etc… and so began a surreal journey of getting to know my Googleganger.
The absolutely terrifying thing about getting to know this kaylasara was realizing how similar we were. Two highlights:
- We both live in the Pacific Northwest
- We are both “gamers” and professionally connected with the gaming industry
Over the last year we’ve communicated quite regularly and confused the hell out of several guild-mates in WoW. Top on our list of to-dos was to meet up in person at some point. This last weekend we made that happen over brunch at Pike Place Market in Seattle. Thankfully the universe did not unravel when we met.

…and it was great! It was terrific to finally meet you and to get to meet both you and Melinda. (Gods, I hope I am spelling that right) I hope that this was just the first time we will have to get together and chat. We might look different and be different ages – but I am pretty sure we are both, undeniably, Kaylasara. It was a genuine pleasure.
